This is a very clean example of the woodblock print "The Angel", issued in the early 1960's as one of the many images from the "Paradise" subset of the "Divine Comedy" series, signed in the plate at bottom in red by the world-famous surrealist artist SALVADOR DALI. The print measures 11 1/8" by 8 1/2" inside the mat and 20 1/4" by 16 1/4" as framed in gold metal, with light green outer mat. The image surface, when inspected up close, speaks of the technical mastery necessary to convert the original watercolor drawing to a graphic image. During the early and mid 1960's Dali was still very active, a decade before the later infirmities that limited his artistic activities. At this time he was especially active in the graphic arts.
