Old print of what I believe are camellias, 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" inside the mat with hand-drawn outlines, 15 1/4" by 13" in what is now (but might not have been originally) a convincingly distressed gold frame, with hand coloring delicately applied. At upper right near the mat is "Pl." and a number so this was a plate from a book on botany no doubt. The item was probably framed in the early 1960's. There is some water staining of the very lowest portion of the mat. If you want to keep the lines etc., you could probably add another layer of mat so as to hide the water marks, or, you could totally reframe. The wear of the gold frame is so even as to appear intentional or original, but it is not. It might work if the look you strive to achieve is more on the rustic or country or Shabby side.
