Vintage and early Hawaiian art is scarce to rare, and desirable. This is a 1932 etching, "Hawaii Hall", one of the principal buildings of the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus, on Oahu. It is pencil signed at lower right margin. An image of this print is included in the university's yearbook for 1932. The work is presently unframed, behind a mat, and it is simply taped at top edge. Fisher was an art instructor at the university certainly in the 1930's and, from what I can see after online research, to at least 1942. There seems to be little biographical information available on her. I see several etchings online of Hawaii-theme subject matter. The print is generally clean, with minor issues such as apparent ink offset in the lower margin, as shown. The sheet including margins measures 8 1/2" by 10". The left edge is cut irregularly but this would all be hidden by a mat. A rare opportunity to acquire a print by a talented woman artist working in the islands even before Pearl Harbor.
