**(One of two pencil signed prints by the artist in my shop)**Photolithograph print published by Frost and Reed, 1929, from the original painting by Sir Alfred Munnings, 12 1/4" by 13 3/4" inside the mat (21 3/4" by 23 3/4" framed), PENCIL SIGNED at lower right margin by the highly important sporting art master, and quite famous English painter of all equestrian subjects, SIR ALFRED MUNNINGS (1878-1959). The handsome subject is a most formally and traditionally dressed horseman, sitting atop his mount in a landscape, surrounded by the hounds. This print was issued in England by the firm Frost and Reed, Ltd., in 1929, making it one of the earlier prints produced in the roughly 30 years that Munnings produced prints in association with the firm. This relatively early example, has been exposed to sunlight, or, the colors have chemically changed to what is now a monochromatic green; this is commonly seen with the artist's prints. Pencil signed examples are highly sought after, as original drawings and paintings by Munnings are very expensive indeed, some paintings having reached into the millions of dollars. Other than the color change, there is some old water staining at lower left (hard to see in photos, ask for more images). See the net for much more information on this highly regarded impressionist painter of horses and the people who interacted with them in England between the wars. .
