An unusual and difficult to photograph trio: two heavy copper etching plates and one tin or zinc lithograph plate, the latter signed clearly Emil Kosa Jr., and one of the copper plates signed with reverse-etched conjoined initials that spell out EK and probably also "Jr". All were acquired by me at the same time, so, I believe it likely that all three are by the hand of the noted California artist EMIL KOSA, JR. (1903-1968). The lithograph plate shows an image of an indian chief or perhaps African warrior. It measures 10" by 8"; each of the coppers measures 10" by 12". The subject of the etchings are a harbor with small boats, such as might be found at San Pedro, and the other shows a two story old house in a forest, a farmer in front, his tractor at right, two horses and a goat included in the scene. I have not extensively researched these to find a match with known Kosa prints. Such plates are rarely encountered. These have some superficial scratches that do not really matter in the overall picture.
