Oil on canvas laid on board landscape of a river in a mountainous scene including a few picturesque structures, signed with initials "LJGC" at lower left, and dated there 1904. There is a high likelihood that the artist who created this attractive painting was from mountainous Wales in the British Isles, as I have seen another painting online, identically signed, dated 1914, the scene depicted in that example given as the River Wye in Wales. The work measures 14" by 16 1/2" and 18 1/2" by 21" as framed. The painting is loose in the frame, needing some more sturdy backing, but the frame is reasonably attractive with it. Overall the work is nicely executed and a nice fit for a traditional decor.
Landscape painting likely by Welsh artist dated 1904 signed with initials
