Large lithograph on paper, the title "Sur Les Douze Coups de Midi" ("The Twelve Strokes of Midnight"), 21 3/8" by 29 1/2" (30" by 37 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right by the well-known Belgian modern artist PIERRE ALECHINSKY (1927-), and numbered at lower left 3/100. This is a modern image of odd shapes and constructions open to interpretation by the viewer. The artist is a major figure in late 20th century art's CoBra movement. The oil paintings sell for significant amounts of money at major sales by Sotheby's, Christie's and elsewhere. This print is in clean condition, however it appears to me that the colors have been possibly attenuated by exposure to ultraviolet light. Other examples I have seen online (and the total edition was only 100 plus a few artist proofs) seem to show more intense color. I suppose it possible that the artist experimented with a pale color scheme within the edition, but I feel it unlikely. This will be removed from the frame for shipping either flat or rolled. Shipping figure assumes the piece being shipped flat. Rolled in a tube, shipping would be significantly lower.
