Poster of 1986, "EGE ART LINE TOUR", 27 1/2" by 19 3/4", unframed, hand signed in somewhat faded marker by the important and increasingly popular California contemporary artist, CHARLES ARNOLDI (1946-). The Ohio-born artist has reached new heights in the contemporary art market, his original works selling regularly over $50,000 at auction, often far exceeding estimates, in recent years. The unusual early twig and wood stick works which launched his commercial success, including bronze sculpture, have largely given way over time into more painting and printmaking, with color, biomorphic forms, and abstraction. The artist lives in Venice, California. This offset poster is not in great condition, having been tightly rolled for a long time, and it is dusty and has some digs in the paper, and edge damage as shown (what appears as diagonal scratch at upper right is light reflecting in scratch on the Plexi). It proved difficult to photograph unless I placed it under the Plexi to flatten it out. Although the work itself has significant faults, as mentioned, the Plexi under which it lies in the photos is itself scratched, so, allow for that; and what looks like staining or dirt at bottom is reflection combining with soiling of the Plexi top surface. Better photos available upon request. Faults or no, this is probably one of the least expensive "Arnoldi's" on the market!
