Watercolor on paper drawing, 13 3/8" by 13 1/2" (18 1/8" by 18 1/8" as framed) by the American freelance cartoonist and illustrator ARNOLD ROTH (1929-). The drawing is titled at bottom "Kultur Can Be Learned" and is dedicated nearby "For Wally Neibart from his old smart ass friend Arnold Roth". (Wally Neibart, 1925-2011, was himself a noted American illustrator). Roth, long associated with the Philadelphia area, since beginning in the area as a freelance artist in 1951, has created advertising, as well as artwork for albums, magazines, newspapers and books. The famed American author John Updike reputedly said of him "...all cartoonists are geniuses but Arnold Roth is especially so". The drawing is in excellent condition. I am offering this and several other works on behalf of a Philadelphia-area relative. The art will be shipped from there. Better photos available upon request.
