Circa 1940's vintage period original lithograph print of the famous Alamo fort in San Antonio, Texas, pencil signed in the margin at lower right and dedicated "To Sally & Stan--M. Crittenden", and titled at lower left "The Alamo". The work measures 12 1/2" by 9 3/4" inside the mat, and 18 1/2" by 15 1/4" as framed. I have opened this up to take a peek inside, and have found that the mat is permanently affixed to the margins of the print. There is some browning around the mat edges but basically the print is very clean. Allow for reflections in a few images. Surprisingly (not an exhaustive search) I do not see information on a Texas artist by this name, but the work is very much in the style of those Texas artists who made fine lithograph prints at mid century---more research will no doubt shed light on the artist.
