A lithograph poster printed by Maeght, 24" by 16", to be shipped unframed (flat or tube-rolled as per buyer preference), circa 1980's, publicizing the gallery's long and fruitful relationship with the famous Spanish artist JOAN MIRO (1893-1983). Miro of course needs little introduction, as one of the best known artists of the twentieth century, his colorful iconic imagery by now firmly integrated into modern visual culture. The first photo shows the print in a metal frame, behind glass; again, this will NOT be shipped with frame and glass. **CONDITION** When viewed close-up, one can see two separate issues on the print: in the letters of "Miro", a roughly horizontal mark, not quite an abrasion, somewhat shiny in the light, as would be a crayon mark (but is not crayon), there being some loss of ink in the lettering there; and above and to the right of that, a curving mark several inches in length that appears again as almost shiny, not obvious when viewed head-on (I have intentionally accentuated it in the images by taking them at an angle). At extreme right edge there is about a 1/8" nick. These three issues might be related, and, I feel, might actually date to when the print was produced. The nick will be completely hidden by framing and the horizontal marks would likely not be noticed by a casual observer at normal viewing distance. Overall, a colorful and highly decorative modern print. CAN BE ROLLED IN A STURDY HARD PLASTIC TUBE TO REDUCE SHIPPING COST. See other prints by Miro in my shop.
