Japanese woodcut print, 14 7/8" by 10 1/4", laid down on a board long ago, pencil signed in the margin at lower right and titled in pencil in the margin at lower left. This is a work from 1932 titled "Misty Evening at Shinobazu Pond, Tokyo" (sometimes "Hazy Evening at Shinobazu Pond, Tokyo")---(this is part of Tokyo's famous Ueno Park), by the noted Japanese woodblock artist SHIRO KASAMATSU (189-1991). The print has delicate blues and a touch of green in the maple leaves. There is paper browning but it is even throughout. I don't know if the artist himself signed this as from what I can see few examples seem to be pencil signed by artist. I am not a specialist in Japanese woodblock prints. This lovely, peaceful scene is very calming. The work is unframed. SEE HUNDREDS OF PAINTINGS, PRINTS AND DRAWINGS IN MY SHOP.
