Oil on masonite scene of a quayside restaurant by the Seine River, 16" by 20" (22" by 26" as framed), signed at lower right, and notated there "Paris", by the listed American artist JOHN FLOYD MORRIS (1920-1991). The artist is associated with California and the east coast, with askart noting exhibitions in Chicago and Palm Beach. Interestingly, a collector of his work seems to have been none other than Noel Coward. When I was Coward's home in Jamaica some years ago, "Firefly", now maintained as a museum/grave site, perched high on a mountain overlooking the north coast of the island, with an eye popping panoramic view, I noted that the house contained a number of works by this artist. Morris seems to have been a traveler, and his works seem to be widely dispersed, though many seem to surface in Southern California. See three other works in my shop by the artist, including a highly surrealistic scene that is quite unusual and most interesting and Dali dream-like. The condition of this Parisian Morris work is excellent, and it is ready for the wall in its rather complimentary vintage frame. .
