Perfect for a child's room, or the WInnie the Pooh fan who never grew up, this is a set of 3 original ink and watercolor drawings, each 5" by 6 1/2", two framed similarly, all three signed by the artist, MARGARET INMAN-KANE. I've been able to locate via Google an artist by that name who worked in the Los Angeles area as a plein air painter, but have found no reference to that individual working in the style of the famous E H Shepard who drew the art for the Winnie the Pooh stories. The handwriting is most definitely English so I'd imagine the artist was English as well! This set includes Piglet, Pooh, and Rabbit engaging in various activities: Pooh hanging from a yellow balloon while Piglet watches, Piglet staring at a wash basin in an interior, Rabbit, Pooh and Piglet outside a hollowed out tree. While two bear the word "Reproduction", they are all indisputably completely original drawings, and not prints. I've seen two other examples by the artist recently, and they were also originals, and bore words to the effect "In tribute to E H Shepard" or "In Homage to E H Shepard" or similar; I can't recall the exact wording. So it appears that the artist painted amazingly faithful copies of the now very valuable E H Shepard drawings, which are snapped up for tens of thousands of dollars in New York and London auctions. Condition of all three is excellent. Mats could use new ones and framing is up to you. .
