If you're looking for an Asian accent piece for your interior, consider this oil on canvasboard, 23 5/8" by 17 5/8" (a little over 31" by 25" as framed), signed at lower right "Bill Parrish" (or Perrish, or Porrish), not dated but likely mid century from late 1940's to early 1960's, the subject a young Chinese woman in traditional colorful costume, with what I believe is an important Chinese character for something important like "life", "luck", etc. at upper right background. I do not see a listing for an artist by this name, but he was talented and created a pleasing bit of Orientalia or Chinoiserie! The eyes, possibly the most vital portion of any portrait, are particularly well painted. The painting could use some varnish and a light cleaning but you wouldn't need to do that to enjoy this on your wall. The carved gold parts on the frame add a nice touch. .
