This is a poetic Asian work, in grayish blues and white, the subject the cone of Mt. Fuji above a cloud deck. The painting measures 14 1/4" by 17" inside the overmat (21 1/2" by 24" as simply framed). The signature at lower left reads Kamemaru and the seal "Kame". I cannot see that this corresponds to a listed artist. The work is in the style of classic Japanese watercolor landscape painting, and is perhaps also inspired by the works of the modern master Yokoyama Taikan. This painting is in good condition but there is some browning pretty much evenly dispersed, in the sky. I don't feel that it detracts significantly from the overall impression made by this work of art. .
