Oil on canvas, 27" by 18 1/2" (34" by 26" as framed) by well listed National Academician artist Lenard Kester (1917-1997). He was a familiar name on the California and national art scene for many decades, achieving associate status in the National Academy by 1958 and made a full academician in 1994, shortly before his death. Kester was a "Disney artist" for many years, painting backgrounds for the Hollywood film industry. This painting, which I have titled myself, shows a man and a woman in conversation, interestingly framed between two types of flowers and platters of fruit sitting on a foreground table.....a very complex and interesting composition by an obviously talented artist, the works of whom have appeared at auctions. There is some very minor small paint loss in a few areas of instability (see white spot at bottom and vertical string of light spots---missing paint---to the right of the figures.
