This is the 1929 tome, measuring about 13" by 11", published by Mitchell Kennerley of New York, listing the total of then known graphic works by the major American painter Arthur Bowen Davies (1862-1928), compiled by Frederic Newlin Price. Price wrote in the front "For Dano (sp.?) Lorini (sp.?) ---with the best wishes and and (sic.) delightful confidence in the hope for art in America Frederic Newlin Price". This is a very useful book for those attempting to collect the graphic works of Davies, and the inscription certainly adds to its appeal. The downside is that the book is a survivor of a fire and other abuse. It is in poor condition, the front cover burned partially and the spine gone, pages are loose, there is continuing burn damage in the first part of the book and some water staining at top. None of this affects the usefulness of the book. I haven't searched all the pages and illustrations but feel from flipping through that they are likely all there. Let me know if you'd like more information on the condition issues. SEE HUNDREDS OF ARTWORKS NOW IN MY SHOP.
