Oil on canvas still life of a small statuette of a horse and a copper vessel on a small table, 13" by 15" (14" by 16 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "Virginia Weaver". I don't see a listing for the artist but evidently she was quite talented, as the perspective and flattening of the picture plane shows familiarity with modernist trends of the early 20th century. The painting has some condition issues, such as a depression at top that shows as a shadowed area in the photos taken in angled light, and at left there is some damage, and at bottom, and an area is abraded in the copper piece. All of this can be restored by a competent restorer. Note the penciled "October, 1935" on the stretcher. .
