Watercolor on paper of shrimp trawlers in a harbor, 18" by 24" and about 3" of mat and frame on a side, signed at lower left "R. Hal Burriss". This is a clean, fresh watercolor by a noted American artist associated with Florida and Louisiana. The work reminds a bit of that of Rolland Golden, a popular New Orleans, Louisiana artist who often worked in watercolor, depicting similar subject matter. The artist lived to nearly the age of 100 years, leaving behind a legacy of watercolors and oils, a number of which have appeared at auction around the country. This work should be re-matted (I don't care for the present blue), and there is currently no glass, making shipping a breeze. See the net for more on the artist, and .
