Victorian 1850s-60s Steel Cut Purse BAg Double Tassels Chain Handle

Here we have an authentic 1850s - 60s Victorian purse , steel cut beaded bag

The bag came out of an estate in Connecticut . I was told upon purchasing the "lot" of bags, that the estate was of 3 sisters and they made the bags ( I have several all slightly different ) . This makes sense to me as there are 3 of a couple of types .

The bag is done well . It has 3 bands of beaded design and the top is crocheted.

The bag has is a double loop strand tassels and 2 side tassels that are a twisted double loop. The bag has a steel frame with a decorative linked chain handle

The bag is 5" x 4" , the tassels hang another 2" from this , the chain doubled hangs 5"

The condition is pretty nice ,it has a little wear on a couple of tassels and the steel frame has a couple of rust spots. The push pin clasp works well. The bag is lined in a black and white check silk , it is ripped across on both sides

The bag has a " Been in the attic for a 100 yrs " smell. It's not overpowering but its there .
