You are viewing a Viennese Vintage Porcelain Vase w/ two ptd medallions of superb quality; Royal Vienna, ca. 1880.
There are two brass handles, resembling a greek amphora vase in shape. The medallions are depicting a young couple, dressed in rural rococo, observing a pair of pigeons. The scene furthermore is surrounded by an excellently painted country side, and edged by a gold border of acanthus-like scrolls and rose blossoms. The gold shade blends well w/ the brass handles and -inset. The reverse medallion consists of a bouquet of flowers; beautifully painted, and reminiscent of flemish flower paintings of the 17th century. The flowers are surrounded by a gold border of reeds.
An original brass liner sits into the vase; well suited for some flower or silk arrangement. The brass liner is fastened to a bolt w/in the vase. The vase is 13" tall and 7-3/4" wide from handle to handle. The medallions are 6" high by 5-1/2" wide. Base is 5-1/8" by 5-1/8".
Condition is excellent; no chips, cracks, scratches, paint a/o gold loss, and no repairs.
