About Indiana Glass Company (IGC) – In 1896, George Brady and James Beatty formed the Beatty-Brady Glass Company. They produced glass lamps, glass chimney tops and household glass. In 1899, they merged into the National Glass Company, a collection of 19 independently run glass manufacturers. Their name was changed to Indiana Glass in 1904. A few years later, National Glass folded, but IGC survived. Around 1960, it was acquired by Lancaster Colony Corp. Historically IGC produced depression, carnival, and goofus glass and exclusively manufactured the first A&W root beer mugs. In the early 70s, Lancaster Colony formed a multi-level marketing company, Tiara Exclusives (TE). Like Avon and Tupperware, items, many manufactured by IGC, were sold through TE at home parties.
