Offered for your consideration is a rarely seen, vintage Gold Medal Brand Coffee Tin. This early coffee can dates to the 1920’s. It has the original screw on lid embossed with the word BEAN. The tin lithograph design on the front and back panels states: One Pound / Net Weight / Gold Medal Brand Coffee / Roasted and Packed by Consumers Sanitary Coffee & Butter Stores / Chicago, ILL. The Consumers Sanitary Coffee & Butter Stores were grocers that opened business in Chicago in the 1920’s. The side of the can reads: A blend of the Finest Coffee Qualities the World Produces. The can has not been cleaned and has no dents or creases. The bottom is embossed: General Can Co. / Chicago. The lithograph design has some scrapes as would be expected for a piece this old. It measures about 6" tall and 4" in diameter. Displays great! Great piece for a tin or coffee advertising collection.
