Offered for your consideration is a beautiful vintage Mexican pottery charger. This early Art Pottery charger or platter is designed as a wall plaque with pierced holes on the back rim for hanging. It is stamped OAXACA MEXICO on the back and dates from the 1940’s. It features a gorgeous decoration of large leaves and grape clusters in a white glaze that is raised and carved to allow the orange background color to show through. The platter has a footed round base and raised ¼ inch rim. The total depth is 1 ¼ inches. It is 14 inches in diameter. It has glaze wear and skips around the edges and a few glaze chips on the white leaves. There are no cracks in the earthenware ceramic pottery. This wonderful vintage Mexican pottery charge is a fabulous piece of art pottery and a wonderful addition to your collection.
