Veuve Perrin Marseille Hand Painted Courting Couple & Castle Dresden Floral Plate Circa 1748-1803
Very nice faience plate in an Alt Brandenstein relief mold. Decorated with a hand painted scene depicting a courting couple in front of a stone monument or building with trees, and a castle with a bridge entrance over water in the background. With Meissen / Dresden style flowers along the border in pink, purple, yellow, blue, and red. Gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the reverse VP in blue. This mark was used by the Veuve Perrin factory in Marseille France between 1848 and 1803.
Has some wear to the gilding, minor wear to the paint, and a small gilded over flake to the edge. Otherwise good condition with no additional flakes, chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 8 inches wide.
