19th Century Sevres Style Hand Painted Watteau Scene & Gilt Brass Satyr Head Urn
Nice antique late 19th century porcelain urn. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau / courting couple scene with lady fishing and a gentleman playing an instrument with trees and foliage in the background. The back of the vase is hand painted with a landscape scene with mountains, trees, foliage, and a body of water. With gold gilt floral scrollwork designs to the neck, top and porcelain base. Has a gilt brass acorn finial and gilt brass satyr head handles.
Has some wear to the gilding and gilt brass, and one chip to the edge of the lid behind the brass mount, but otherwise good condition.
Measures approximately 8 inches wide from handle to handle x 18 1/2 inches tall to the top of the lid finial.
