- Painted by OSCAR YOSEF DE KERDSMONT SOCEC. With signature on the lower left side of the painting and on the back of the wood. Also dated 1912.
- The painting measures approx cm 26x15.5, with the frame measures approx cm 42 x 31.
- Frame in wood, with gold leaves
Curiosity: On the back of the painting the advertising for Fernet Branca, for a railway shipping to Mr. Cappellini Vincenzo. Mr. Cappellini at the time was the owner of a hotel in Sestri Levante by the name Miramare di Sestri Levante. Mr. Cappellini passed away in 1920 due to a political terror attack. A street in Sestri Levante brings his name. At the time the painter, Mr. Socec was living in Sestri Levante.
Painter: Oscar Yosef de Kerdsmont Socec was born in 1879. He studied at the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris under Edward Sain and Carolus Durand. Socec painted extensively in Europe in the 1900s, living for seven years on the island of Capri, Sestri Levante, Italy, for several years. His paintings were exhibited throughout Europe, including Italy, France and Switzerland.
