Here we have a nice 19C., 1 1/2G. stoneware crock which we believe was made in Maryland. It has no markings other than a leaf design made with indigo slip. The crock is a coiled structure and has a salt glaze on it which has been compromised. The exterior is rough with stone pops and irregular pottery marks. There is also a firing mark on the bottom edge and a chip repair on the top edge. There are no major cracks. Just below the top edge there is an indent those goes around the crock where linen can be secured by string to cover/protect the contents. It measures 10” H x 6.5”W.
