A gorgeous pair of 19th century Wedgwood vases. They combine the Neo Classical and Regency style with Imari patterns and colours and look very striking. They have twin handles with the straps running down the body come with the original lids. The ground colour is black with gilt web work and the hand painted panels feature oriental style flowers.

The bases have the Wedgwood Portland vase marks in blue and this dates them around 1880. Note also the interesting original paper labels, these are for a retailer or perhaps wholesaler in Bournemouth. These labels promote Minton, unfortunately I have been unable to reference this further.

Condition

Very good order, no chips or cracks. Minimal wear for period. Slight fritting to inner rim of one vase (from production).
