This is an outstanding example by the popular and listed Julius Brauer Studio of Chicago. As one of the premier Chicago Decorating Studios of the early 1900's, it was noted, as was Pickard, for producing high quality and expert decorating from vibrant florals to the sought after animal pieces. See Reed's Pickard Collectors Book for an extensive history and numerous photos by this fine Studio.
This beauty, which measures 9-3/8" wide, has been decorated with a hunting dog successfully bringing back the prey to his master. The artwork is noteworthy and very realistic. Note the the combination of the summer and fall colors....with background shadow leafing and shades of green to shades of a brown burnt orange. Add the heavy gilded outer rim and you have a beautiful hunting scene ready for your favorite wall.
The Plate is in very good condition and totally damaged free. There is a very minor glaze dimple-skip [see photo]that blends well into the background.
The Plate displays a France Limoges mark and the Julius Brauer green Mark # 3, which was used by the decorating studio from 1905--1910.
The Plate shows and displays exceptionally well.
