This is a beautiful example of a vintage 1900 hand painted scenic Limoges Cache Pot. The gorgeous Pot displays the famous "The Storm" scene painting by French Artist Auguste Cot, which was completed in 1883 and now resides at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The opposite side of the Cache Pot displays four [4] Nudes swimming and sunning.
The Cache Pot has been expertly and extensively decorated on both sides and is totally damaged free. Wonderful applied gilded handles and mini-feet add to the overall beauty of the piece. The heavily gilded gold rim, applied handles, and four ball feet are near pristine condition.
This gem shows extremely well......and has proudly graced my entry foyer area for years.
The impressive Cache Pot measures 9-1/2" tall with a 7-1/4" opening and will fit well from your vanity to the kitchen.
The Cache Pot displays an early Limoges, France mark [see photo] and is artist signed Cecilia Moris and dated 1900.
