Fabulous Tiffany & Co. of New York & Mintons & Co. 1902 "Blue Beaded" Set of Eleven [11] Pristine 9" Plates

Fresh from the Chicago Suburban Northshore Lake Area comes this fabulous and pristine Set of 11 Plates made by England's Minton & Co., circa 1902-1912, for Tiffany & Co. of New York.

Minton & Co. of England

The storied history of the Minton & Co. was started in 1793, in a Pottery Factory in Stoke-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England by Thomas Minton as Thomas Minton & Sons. The Minton & Co became one of England's elite makers of fine porcelain for nearly 175 years and merged with Royal Doulton in 1968. In the late 1800 and through much of the early 1900's Minton made China for some of the top retail stores in America including Tiffany & Co. of New York and Marshall Fields of Chicago.

Tiffany & Co., corner of 37th Street and Fifth Avenue, New York City, NY

Charles Lewis Tiffany and his partners founded Tiffany, Young, & Ellis as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium" in 1837. By 1853 the name was shorten to Tiffany & Company. Tiffany & Co. soon became one of New York City elite Emporiums branching out and adding fine European products over the years. Tiffany was the first U.S. firm to win an award for excellence in silverware at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1868. Through the years Tiffany was associated with fine Jewelry being called by the New York Times as a "palace of jewels".

By the 1870's Tiffany was one of the largest importers, in America, of fine China & Glass from major European companies in France, England, Austria, and Germany. Please view my attached Photo of some of their wares from a 1877 Photo.

Tiffany & Co. moved several times as it grew in size and prestige. In 1906, the Manhattan flagship store was relocated to a new location, at the corner of 37th Street and Fifth Avenue, where it would remain for 34 years. Please view my attached Photo.

Tiffany & Co can still be found in New York City.

This wonderful Tiffany & Co Set of 11 Plates, which measure 9" each, have been elaborately decorated with hundreds of blue beading encircling a gild gold center geometric pattern. The gold pattern center is outlined with additional bright gilded gold stenciling followed by the incredible blue beading which ends at a double band of bright gold scroll at the outer rim area. Amazingly, the Plates are Pristine, as is the Gold !

The gorgeous Tiffany & Co. vintage "Blue Beaded" and heavy gold accented Set of Eleven Plates are absolutely pristine and are totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage. I can literally not find a missing bead or bead wear on any of the Plates ! The extensive bright gold gilded accenting is also pristine !

The stunning vintage "Blue Beaded" and heavy gold accented Set of Eleven Plates displays a combination Minton & Co. & Tiffany & Co Mark which was used from 1902 to 1912.

The exquisite Set of Tiffany & Co. Plates appear, in my estimation, of never being used !

Please feel free to ask questions.
