Stunning Haviland France & Pickard Studio of Chicago 1900's Hand Painted "Apples" Fruit Plate by Listed Artist, "Leon"
The Artist, "Leon", worked for the Pickard Studio of Chicago from 1898 to 1905. He was especially well known for his fruits & flowers in traditional, naturalistic formats and included currants, gooseberries, apple blossoms, and apple clusters among his many subjects. After leaving the Pickard Studio, Leon decorated for the D'Arcy Studio in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage, early 1900 Haviland France & Pickard Studio of Chicago hand painted Fruit Plate, which measures about 7-5/8" wide, has been superbly decorated shows four large "Apples", on stem & leaf, against a background of shadow leafing and a background color of deep red-brown. A fancy scallop heavy bright gilded gold border adds to the superb beauty.
The attractive Pickard Studio of Chicago hand painted "Apples" Fruit Plate is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with some surface scratches & minor paint wear. [Please view Photos]
