Gorgeous Wight Art Studio 1900's Hand Painted Vibrant "Red, Pink, & Yellow Roses" 9-1/2" Floral Tea Pot by Pickard Artist, "Phillip Wight"
The Artist, Phillip Wight worked for Pickard Studio of Chicago from 1905 through 1910 and was known for his naturalistic and floral designs. In 1911 Mr. Wight opens his own Chicago Decorating Studio; Wight Art Studio. Operating in downtown Chicago and with connections with Chicago's Department Stores, including the nationally well known Marshall Fields, Wight found in instant outlet for his numerous Floral Designs and Pickard style pieces. The well known Pickard Artist, Howard Reury, worked for Wight during his Studio days. The Wight Studio operated until 1920.
This is a fine example of Phillip Wight's outstanding naturalistic work; a beautiful hand painted tall Floral Tea Pot decorated on a German blank. The attractive Studio decorated hand painted Floral Tea Pot, which measures a large 9-1/2" tall & 9" wide from outer spout to outer handle, has been wonderfully decorated with vibrant & lifelike "Red, Pink, & Yellow Roses", on stem & leaf, against a background of shadow leafing and background colors of cream, light cream yellow, light cream green, and hints of light cream burnt orange. Adding to the Tea Pot's beauty is heavy gilded fire gold which graces the finial, the lid rim, the Pot's rim, the Pot's inner rim, and the handle.
The beautiful Wight Art Studio hand painted "Roses" Tea Pot is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the heavy gold decor nearly pristine.
The attractive hand painted Wight Art Studio hand painted "Red, Pink, & Yellow Roses" heavy gold Floral Tea Pot was decorated on a Germany blank and signed by the former Pickard Studio Artist, Phillip "Wight".
