Gorgeous Austria 1900's Hand Painted "Napoleon At the Bataille de Friedland" 8-1/4" Heavy Gilded Scenic Plate by Artist, "Vernet"

Exceptionally decorated is this vintage, circa 1900, hand painted Austria Scenic Plate of Napoleon Bonaparte.

The gorgeous hand painted Austria Plate, which measures 8-1/4" wide, displays the famous Napoleonic "Bataille de Friedland".

The Battle of Friedland (June 14, 1807) was a major confrontation of the Napoleonic Wars between the armies of the French Empire commanded by Napoleon I and the armies of the Russian Empire led by Count von Bennigsen. Napoleon and the French obtained a decisive victory that routed much of the Russian army, which retreated chaotically over the Alle River by the end of the fighting. The battlefield is located in modern-day Kaliningrad Oblast, near the town of Pravdinsk, Russia.

The beautiful Austria hand painted Plate displays Napoleon discussing the ongoing Battle with his Generals. The Plate is exceptionally decorated & heavily accented in gold stenciling in 3 separate areas, raised Gold & Yellow Beading and a wonderful heavy gold "Greek Key". Additionally, found in relief, are four [4] Gilded Portraits Heads, outlined in Gold Beading & four separate Gilded Scenes outlined in Gold Beading.

The attractive Austrian hand painted Scenic Napoleon Plate is in excellent condition, near pristine, and is totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the heavy gold stenciling & gilding also being close to pristine.

The stunning 1900's Hand Painted "Napoleon At the Bataille de Friedland" 8-1/4" Heavy Gilded Scenic Plate has been signed by the Artist, "Vernet" at the 8:00 Area. The Plate additionally displays several marks; an Austrian Mark & a Gilded Gold Crown Over a Gold "N".

The stunning looking Plate appears to be a mixtion or a combination of transfer and hand painting.
