Limoges France & Koken Barber Supply 1900 Hand Painted Occupational Shaving Mug of Volunteer Firefighter, "E.A. Allworden" & His "Horse Drawn Fire Steam Pump" Shaving Mug
Wonderful and intricately decorated by Koken Barber Supply, on a Limoges Blank, is this vintage & scarce hand painted Occupational Shaving Mug which displays two Firefighters racing in the night to a large burning fire in the distance. One firefighter urgently races a brown and white horse, in harness, pulling a Fire Steam Pump, while the 2nd firefighter rides tailboard. Look closely at the authentic and incredible details of the scene and you will note such things as the Pump Dials, the outfits of the volunteer firefighters....as one wears the hat and is the Engineer and the tailboard firefighter wearing a leather hat and ready to take the fire hose to the fire once the Steam Engine is setup. Also note the heavy leather collars for the horses as well as the minute details of the harness. Additionally note the 2 sizes of wooden wheels, the steam and soot rising from the Steamer stack, and the high wooden seat that the Engineer rides on. The oveall detail, presentation, and use of colors is exceptional.
The beautiful Volunteer Firefighter Occupational Shaving Mug is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs.....while the extensive gilded fire gold is excellent. There is almost no wear on the name and the side stenciling with minor wear on the base, outer top rim, and handle.
The exceptional 1900 Hand Painted Occupational Shaving Mug of Volunteer Firefighter, "E.A. Allworden" & His "Horse Drawn Fire Steam Pump" Shaving Mug displays the Koken Barber Supply Co. mark and a Limoges France mark.
The exquisite Shaving Mug was no doubt a exceptional custom design Shaving Mug for the Firefighter; "E.A. Allworden".
