Outstanding Osborne Studio of Chicago Early 1900's Hand Painted "Basket of Roses" Heavy Etched Gold Tea Pot by the Artist, Asbjorn "Osborne"
Wonderfully decorated is this vintage early 1900's hand painted Osborne Studio of Chicago heavy gold & Floral Tea Pot.
Osborne Studio started in 1914 in Chicago by founder, Asbjorn Osborne, and soon became one of the top China decorating studios in Chicago, as well as in America. They competed with the best china decorating studios of the day including Pickard, Brauer, Donath, and Stouffer, as well as hundreds of other smaller professional studios. Asbjorn Osborne, as well as some former Pickard Studio Artist, did much of the Studio decorating. A complete section on the Osborne Art Studio can be found in Reed's Pickard Collectors Book and covers Pages 269--275. Many fine photo examples of Osborne Studio works can be found in the book including several similar pieces by Osborne and the Pickard Studio.
The beautiful hand painted Osborne Studio Floral Tea Pot, which measures 7-5/8" long & 4" tall, has been superbly decorated with a large "Basket of Roses" against an old gilded gold & heavily etched Floral background.
The outstanding Osborne Studio hand painted "Basket of Roses" Tea Pot is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the gold being excellent and only hints of wear.
The gorgeous hand painted "Basket of Flowers" Tea Pot with the intricate and heavy etched Floral background has been decorated and signed by Asbjorn "Osborne" and decorated in the early 1900's at the Osborne Art Studio of Chicago.
