Gorgeous T & V Limoges France & Julius Brauer Decorating Studio 1900's Hand Painted "Strawberry" 13-3/4" Tray by Listed Artist, "Chevalier"

The Julius H. Brauer China Decorating Studio opened its doors in Chicago in 1903. Brauer started his career as one of the Pickard Studios earliest artist and worked for that Studio from 1898-1903.

Within a few years the Julius Brauer Studios became one of Pickard's biggest competitors, not only in Chicago, but throughout the country. Over the course of time that the Studio operated [1903-1926] some 23 different artist worked for him including eleven [11] former Pickard Artist.

The Studio was tremendously popular putting out many variety of floral items, as well as Portrait, Scenic, and Animal decorated pieces. Alan Reed in his Pickard Collectors Book has an extensive section with 10 pages of history and photos of this outstanding Studio and fine examples of this great Artist works.

This is a beautiful example of the fabulous artwork produced in the early 1900's by the Brauer Decorating Studio; an outstanding hand painted Fruit decor Tray decorated on a T & V Limoges France blank by Studio Artist, "Chevalier".

The gorgeous hand painted Tray, which measures a large 13-3/4" long & 6-3/8" wide, has been superbly decorated with large & lifelike "Strawberries" on stem & leaf against a background of shadow leafing & rich background colors including deep burnt orange, cream burnt orange, yellow, cream green, & grey-brown. A heavy fire gold outer rim, outlined in red, adds to the beauty of this outstanding art creation.

The attractive hand painted "Strawberry" Tray is in excellent condition & totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the gold also being nearly pristine.

The outstanding hand painted "Strawberry" Tray displays two marks; "T & V Limoges France" & "Julius Brauer" mark # 5, used from 1911 to 1926.

The exquisite "Strawberry" Tray shows & displays exceptionally well.
