Gorgeous Bavaria 1940-70's Hand Painted Vibrant "Blackberry" 8-5/8" Plate by the Renown Artist, "Maria Garcia"
ARTIST, MARIA GARCIA 1925— Maria Garcia was born on December 29th in 1925 in Costa Rica. She was about 4 years old when she and her family decided to migrate to the San Francisco area of California. Maria had a life time passion and love of fine art from an early age. She started professional china painting in 1943 when she was only 17 years old. Her personal naturalistic style, with the use of deep and rich colors, won her many awards throughout the years and her beautiful works and creations have always been in demand. Her great early artistic success led her to purchase her own kiln, which she used for many years and helped support her family for most of her life. Maria's love and passion for China and fine arts painting endured for some 47 years, until she retired about 1990. I was recently given the honor and privilege, by her son, Albert, to tour her home in the Sarasota area of Florida and was allowed the wonderful opportunity to acquire many fine pieces from her own private collection.
This is an outstanding example of Ms.Garcia's work, a wonderful unmarked Bavaria Fruit Decor Plate measuring 8-5/8" wide. The beautiful and colorful Plate depicts lifelike hand painted "Blackberries" on stem and leaf against background colors of off white, cream lavender, and a purple. A heavy gilded outer rim adds to the beauty of the Plate.
The "Blackberry" hand painted Plate is in very good condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the gold being excellent.
The beautiful "Blackberry" Plate has been signed by the renown Artist, "Maria Garcia".
