Edward Heyn was a successful Chicago China Decorator in the early part of the 1900's running his own listed Studio from 1902—1921. He competed with the great China Decorating Studios of the time including Pickard, Brauer, Donath, Osborne, and Stouffer. The high quality of his work was endearing and rivaled some of the best Artist of the day. He is listed in Alan Reed's Pickard Collectors Book.
This is a fine example of Edward Heyn's work; a beautiful 1900's hand painted Thomas Bavaria Floral Plate. The beautiful Bavaria Plate, which measures 8-1/2", displays colorful "Wild Pink Roses" on stem and leaf against a background of shadow leafing and background colors of blue-green, several shades of cream green, cream blue, and a cream burnt orange brown. The quality artwork, use of colors, and superb presentation are all examples of a master decorator.
The beautiful hand painted "Wild Pink Roses" Plate is in excellent condition and totally damage free of chips, cracks, or other damage...with the heavy gilded gold rim in excellent condition.
The attractive Floral Plate displays an early "Thomas Sevres Bavaria" mark and has been prominently signed on the front side by the early listed Chicago Artist, "E.Heyn".
