Beautiful Vintage 1900's RS Prussia Hand Painted Custom Order "Gold Lily Mold" 10" Bowl Decorated in the Tradition of Master China Decorator, "William Lycett"

The renowned China Decorator "William Lycett" of Atlanta, Georgia often used a simple but elegant decor of heavy gilded gold and gold leafing against a white background. Before the rise of the Pickard Studio of Chicago, just prior to 1900, the most famous American China Decorator was Edward Lycett, an English Artist who opened a New York China Decorating Studio in 1861. Mr. Lycett is best known for painting the White House dinnerware for President Lincoln. His son William moved to Atlanta in 1883, where he continued the family trade, painting customized china and becoming the most famous and sought after China Decorator of his time. William Lycett pieces are often found in museums and recently an exhibit was held of his work at the Atlanta History Center. William Lycett passed in 1910, but during his lifetime he came to be known as the "pioneer porcelain china painter in America".

This beautiful and near pristine piece is a fine example decorated in the tradition and style of Edward Lycett. The beautiful and elegant piece, which measures 10" wide & 2-3/4" tall, has been heavily accented and decorated with a heavy gilded gold style decor. Heavy gilded gold also embraces the outer rim, the blown out rim Lilies, the underside rim, and the base. The beautiful Bowl, itself, has been decorated on a wonderful RS Prussia blank note as the "Lily Mold". The Bowl appears to have been a special custom order, as the center of the Bowl, if you look closely, displays in fancy script; "BCG".

The attractive hand painted ,heavy gilded, RS Prussia Lily Mold Bowl is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage with the gold way better than excellent.

The hand painted Gold Bowl displays the factory mark of "WILLIAM LYCETT, ATLANTA".

The gorgeous gild gold Bowl shows and displays exceptionally well.
