Antique 1890's Foster & Bailey Sterling Guilloche Enamel & Brass Dinner Bell
The Foster & Bailey Co. of Providence, RI was originally founded in 1873 as White & Foster. From 1878 to 1898 the partnership of Theodore W. Foster and Samuel H. Bailey had changed the name to Foster & Bailey.
This is a beautiful example of the Foster & Bailey Co. of Providence, RI...a stunning Sterling Guilloche Enamel & Brass Dinner Bell. Both the handle and tip of the Bell has been decorated in a vibrant blue/white guilloche enamel. At the base of the handle[see photo] you can clearly see the marked sterling F & B. The bell, itself, appears to be either brass or a brass colored metal. The beautiful Bell, well over 100 years old, is extremely well made and stands 3-1/4" tall with the bell 1-1/4" wide.
The Bell works well and appears to have a very small tiny area of corrosion [see photo]....while the handle is in good condition with the exception of a small enamel loss in the handle, possibly a ding. [see photo]
The beautiful vintage Dinner Bell was obviously made for the very well to do and will make a wonderful and unusual addition for your collection.
