ARTIST, MARIA GARCIA 1925—
Maria Garcia was born on December 29th in 1925 in Costa Rica. She was about 4 years old when she and her family decided to migrate to the San Francisco area of California.
Maria has had a life time passion and love of fine art from an early age. She started professional china painting in 1943 when she was only 17 years old. Her personal naturalistic style, with the use of deep and rich colors, won her many awards throughout the years and her beautiful works and creations have always been in demand. Her great early artistic success led her to purchase her own kiln, which she used for many year helping support her family. Maria's love and passion for China and fine arts painting endured for some 47 years, until she retired about 1990.
I was recently given the honor and privilege, by her son, Albert, to tour her home in the Sarasota area of Florida and was allowed the wonderful opportunity to acquire many fine pieces from her own private collection.
This is a wonderful example of Maria's work....a beautiful unmarked Limoges hand painted 8-3/8" Plate depicting large and life like vibrant "White Chrysanthemums" on stem and leaf against a background of shadow leafing and background colors of several shades of creme lavender, creme, and a creme brown. The beautiful artwork, wonderful use of colors, and extraordinary presentation are all the earmarks of a professional decorator.
The gorgeous "White Chrysanthemum" Plate is in excellent condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage.
The Plate has been Artist signed, "Maria Garcia".
The outstanding and vibrant colors of the Plate gives it great presents and appeal.
