Wonderful Vintage Limoges France 1900's Hand Painted Vibrant "Apple Decor" 11-1/2" Heavy Gilded Plate by the Well Known French Artist, "Rancon"
Out of the numerous Limoges France Porcelain Studios, "Coronet France" became popular in the States in the early 1900's, specifically in the 1906-1920 era. The well known New York importer, George Borgfeldt brought Coronet Limoges to the U.S. during this period to help satisfying the public demand for fine hand painted European Porcelain.
The well known and regarded French Artist, "Rancon" was tremendously popular during this era due to his incredible fruit and floral creations.
This is a fine example of "Rancon's" work, an outstanding 11-1/2" wide from outer handle to outer handle fruit decor Plate. It is a pleasure to present such an outstanding creation....and the photos say it all! The Plate is a spectacular creation of life-like Apples that appear so real with a wonderful use of shadow leafing and colors adding to the richness of the superior presentation. The heavy raised and ornate fire gold outer rim with its large cut out handles just adds to the beauty.
The Apple Plate is in very good condition and free of nicks, chips, crack, hairlines, or other damage....and look at the gold...!! The gold is nearly pristine with hardly a hint of wear.
The Plate displays a double mark... The Limoges Porcelain Studio used a Crown with the brand name, "Coronet" in green, as well as a 2nd Limoges France mark.
The beautiful Fruit Plate begs for display and is a standout where ever she is shown.
