Vintage Haviland France 1900's Hand Painted "Violets" & Heavy Gold 9-1/4" Plate by the Listed Decorating Studio; White's Art Co. of Chicago
The White's Art Co. of Chicago was started in 1914 in the downtown Chicago Loop area at 201 East Ontario Street. The White Family had four accomplished artist that had produced high quality artwork since at least the turn of the century. Once the Studio opened their doors for business they grew rapidly adding another fifteen [15] accomplished Artist including three who had decorated for the famous Pickard Studio. The Studio grew rapidly and had great success selling their fine painted porcelain. The world famous Marshall Fields & Co. became a prominent buyer of their fine work and the Studio had great success for another 10 years. The Author, Alan Reed, has dedicated 4 Pages & Photos of this wonderful early Chicago Decorating Studio in his very popular Pickard Collectors Book.
This is a fine example of the White's Art Co. hand painted decorating...a gorgeous 9-1/4" hand painted "Violets" Plate with heavy gold decor with additional "Violets" in relief and totally surrounding the outer rim area. Look closely as the artwork, use of colors, and presentation....all the earmarks of a professional decorator.
The beautiful Violets Plate is in very good condition and totally free of chips, cracks, or other damage...with the gold being near excellent with light wear.
The Violets Plate displays a double mark...."Haviland France" and "WHITE'S ART CO. CHICAGO HAND PAINTED".
The attractive Plate shows and displays exceptionally well.
