This is an outstanding unsigned example by the popular and listed Chicago professional China Painter, Julius Brauer. Brauer had one of the premier Chicago China Decorating Studios of the early 1900's operating from 1903-1925. His Studio was noted, as was Pickard, for producing high quality and expert China decorating from vibrant floral creations to the sought after animal pieces. See Reed's Pickard Collectors Book for an extensive history and numerous photos by this fine Studio and exceptional Artist. .
This superb beauty, which measures 9-1/2" wide, has been decorated with a English Spaniel hunting dog, in a forest setting, successfully bringing back the prey to his master. The artwork and use of colors is both noteworthy and realistic. The gorgeous Plated was decorated by Julius Brauer, himself, during the hey day of Chicago China decorating, in the early part of the 1900's.
The Hunting Dog Plate is in good condition and totally damage free of chips, cracks, hairlines, or other damage.
The Plate displays an early T & V Limoges mark.
