Anna Larson opened her Chicago Professional China Decorating Studio in 1914. Thus, she competed with some of the best decorating studios of the era....including Pickard, Donath, Brauer, Osborne, and Stouffer. The Studio ran from 1914-1921...and during that time she produced wonderful floral creations.
This is a fine example of Ms. Larson's work....a spectacular large 15" long X 5-1/4" wide Floral Tray on a Bavaria blank. The beautiful Tray displays "Petite Pink Roses" on stem and leaf against a background of shadow leafing and colors of creme, light creme green, and hints of light creme pink. The Tray has two large gilded gold handles, as well as a heavily gilded outer rim adding to its beauty.
The Tray is in excellent condition and totally damage free of nicks, chips, cracks, or other damage.
The Tray's mark is mainly worn off...but typically the early Chicago professional decorating studios, purchased blanks from the two largest white blank importers of the day; Burley & Co & Pitkin & Brooks...both of which used almost exclusively German/Bavaria & Limoges blanks.
The Tray is signed on the front side by the Artist, "A. Larson".
The Tray, with its beautiful artwork and soft pastel colors is perfect for a vanity, bath, dresser, small table, or counter.
