Gold color metal fronds of coral surround a white hard plastic oval pendant that has mellowed to a pale ivory color. The plastic oval is mounted on a textured metal backing and the pendant hangs from a chain featuring textured links. The metal coral is very dimensional and is really the standout feature of this necklace.
The chain is 17 inches long, while the pendant is 2 1/2 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches long by 1/4 inch deep. The chain closes with a spring-ring clasp. It is signed NAPIER with a copyright symbol in an oval cartouche on the back of the pendant, and again on one of the links of the chain next to the clasp. It looks as if it has never been worn and is in excellent condition.
This necklace is shown on page 479 in the book The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry, by Melinda Lewis. It is noted as being from 1973.
