A luscious find, three Mikimoto cultured pearls are mounted in a row on a sterling silver tie clip of a streamlined design. This piece comes in its original box from the Mikimoto shop on the Ginza, Tokyo. I believe this tie clip dates from the 1950s-1960s.
The tie clip measures 2" long by 5/16" wide. The clip mechanism is marked with "K.MIKIMOTO TOKYO," the Mikimoto mark, and "SILVER." It could use a bit more polishing, but I will leave that up to the new owner.
The pearls are 5mm each and are white with a slight rosy blush. I see no wear to the pearls and they are lovely, as are all Mikimoto pearls.
The box measures 3 7/16" by 2 ¼" by 1 3/8". It is of dark blue velvet with an ivory silk lining with the Mikimoto name, logo, and shop location stamped in gold. All these items are in excellent condition.
